Habitat for Humanity Announces Dedication Ceremony for the Women Build and Corporate Team Build ‘06 homes
Habitat for Humanity will be celebrating the completion of two more Habitat homes at a dedication event on Saturday, March 31 at 10 am and cordially invites the public to join in the festivities. The dedication program will feature remarks by Habitat board members, key volunteers and staff, the home sponsors, and the partner families that will be moving into the homes. Construction has been made possible through the generous support of a number of companies with a presence in the Albuquerque area and the involvement of hundreds of volunteers in these two projects.
The Women Build home has been generously sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement, with additional major support from the Allstate Foundation, Sandi Pressley Inc, and Coldwell Banker Legacy. The project actively engaged women volunteers in the construction of the Habitat home and also featured clinics on home construction basics for the women participating in the build. Lowe’s is a national partner with Habitat for Humanity International and is the national underwriter of Habitat’s Women Build program, which involves women in construction to address the problem of substandard housing.
The Corporate Team Build ’06 home has been built through the efforts of a team of corporate donors who have partnered with Habitat on the construction of this safe, decent, affordable home in our community. Members of the team include Bank of the West, Boeing SVS, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, Citigroup, Ethicon Endo-Surgery, Home Depot, Modrall law firm, Northrop Grumman, Sam’s Club (Coors, Eubank & Renaissance locations), Target, UNM Alumni Assoc., Wal-Mart (San Mateo & Carlisle stores) and Wild Oats Markets.
